Bereavement Bereavement is the losing of anything that is important to you. It may be something which you have mislaid temporarily or it may something or someone you have lost permanently. Whatever it is, the process of the feelings that you go through will be similar. It will only be the intensity of the feelings and the time they last that will be different, depending on how significant the loss is to you. The main thought that people have about bereavement is the death of a loved one, but there are many other instances of bereavement and loss which are also agonising. Divorce, the loss of a job, being made redundant, the break-up of a relationship or the loss of freedom to be yourself. There are also non-permanent losses for example the temporary separation from someone you love can be very painful. The more a person is a part of your life the bigger hole they will leave when they are not there. Hypnotherapy, stress management and relaxation techniques can help you deal with these sometimes unmanageable feelings which can take over your life. Age-regression under hypnosis can help you discover how you dealt with bereavement and loss in the past and how it affects or disables you now. Hypnotherapy can establish new and positive ways of coping so that you are not locked into old and usually ineffective patterns from the past. |
