Commitment Phobia

Victoria's Story

I came to see Neil with what I believed to be 'commitment phobia'. I was finding it increasingly difficult to form relationships, and was at the stage where even after going out with someone just once, I became an emotional wreck - I couldn't sleep or eat, became very weepy, couldn't stop constant negative 'chatter' in my head until I thought I would go mad, and the only way to relieve it was to finish the relationship - sometimes before it had even got started. I was leaving a trail of bewildered men behind me and I myself was feeling very confused and depressed about it. I was in a cycle of self-sabotage.

Neil is a Godsend, truly. He makes you feel immediately relaxed, and before I knew it  I was pouring out my heart. I have to say that Neil is highly intuitive, he really tunes in to who you are and somehow comes up with exactly the right words and thoughts. I have had many counselling and therapy sessions over the last few years with relation to the same issue - I only wish I had come across Neil much sooner. I learned so much about myself. I was honestly surprised at how quickly Neil helped me put two and two together. Everything suddenly started clicking and making sense and I could see all the links - just understanding why you have become a certain way makes such a huge difference.

I know that I still have some work to do, but I certainly feel much more confident about the future - probably because now I understand who I am and won't go throwing myself blindly into relationships and losing sight of who I am.

Meeting Neil has been a remarkable experience because he is a remarkable person, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back and see him if I have a 'wobble' again!
